This research was conducted in two cycles, encompassing four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 36 students of class XII-10 of SHS 4 Semarang. Data were obtained through a problem solving ability test. Based on the research and analysis conducted, it was found that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model has a positive impact on improving the problem solving skills of students of class XII-10 of SHS 4 Semarang in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. This is evidenced by a significant improvement in problem solving skills between Cycle I and Cycle II. In the first cycle, the average score for problem solving skills reached 75.87, but in the second cycle, this average score increased to 87.50. Thus, the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve students' problem solving skills.
2025-05-03T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Lesson Study in Teacher Education https://journal.pwmjateng.com/index.php/jlste/article/view/149 PROBLEM BASED LEARNING BERBANTUAN GEOGEBRA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN KEAKTIFAN BELAJAR 2025-04-16T12:12:19+00:00 Siti Malihatus Saniyah [email protected]
This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of the students in class XI-1 at SMA Negeri 11 Semarang on the topic of geometric transformations. The critical thinking ability test in the pre-cycle showed that only 18 out of 36 students achieved mastery (50%) with an average score of 60. In addition to low critical thinking skills, student engagement in learning was also low. During lessons, some students slept in class, played with their phones, and lacked focus on the material being taught. It is hoped that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Geogebra will improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this classroom action research is to describe the implementation of the PBL model assisted by Geogebra in improving critical thinking skills and student engagement in learning geometric transformations in class XI-1 at SMA Negeri 11 Semarang for the 2024/2025 academic year. To achieve this goal, this research is designed in two cycles. The procedure in each cycle includes stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data from the observations are described, interpreted, and then reflected upon to determine the corrective actions for the next cycle. The learning is considered successful if the percentage of students who achieve mastery in the class reaches the performance indicator, which is at least 85%. The classroom action research conducted in two cycles shows that the average score of students in the pre-cycle was 60, with a classical mastery rate of 19.44%. In cycle I, the average score increased to 74.42 with a classical mastery rate of 50%, and in cycle II, it increased to 86.39 with a classical mastery rate of 88.89%. Student engagement also improved after learning with the PBL model assisted by Geogebra, with the average engagement in cycle I being 73.78%. In cycle II, student engagement increased to an average of 89.63%. Based on the actions taken, it can be concluded that the PBL model assisted by Geogebra can improve the critical thinking skills and engagement of students in class XI-1 at SMA Negeri 11 Semarang.
2025-05-03T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Lesson Study in Teacher Education https://journal.pwmjateng.com/index.php/jlste/article/view/150 MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PENALARAN MATEMATIS DAN KEAKTIFAN PESERTA DIDIK DENGAN MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING BERBANTUAN GEOGEBRA PADA MATERI PERSAMAAN GARIS SINGGUNG ELIPS SISWA KELAS XII SMA NEGERI 11 SEMARANG TAHUN PELAJARAN 2024/2025 2025-04-15T10:29:21+00:00 Siti Jami'atun [email protected] Titien Sulistiyoningsih [email protected] Martyana Prihaswati [email protected]
One of the mathematical skills that students must master is the ability to reason mathematically. Writing argumentative texts is an essential competency for students to develop critical, logical, and systematic thinking skills. However, initial observations revealed that students' ability to write argumentative texts was relatively low. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the model developed by Kemmis and McTaggart, which consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 36 students from class XII F at SMA N 11 Semarang in the academic year 2024/2025. Data were collected through observation, interviews, writing tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed descriptively using qualitative and quantitative methods. The findings show that implementing the Project-Based Learning model significantly improved students' argumentative writing skills. In Cycle I, the average student writing score was 70, which increased to 82 in Cycle II. Additionally, students' motivation and participation levels also showed significant improvement. The problem addressed was the low participation of students in English lessons, particularly in speaking skills. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection was carried out through direct classroom observation and evaluation of students’ speaking presentations. The results of the first cycle showed some improvement, with 61% of the 36 students submitting video speaking assignments. In the second cycle, the integration of Cooperative Learning strategies such as the Gallery Walk led to higher student participation, with 94% achieving the target. One such change is the integration of project-based learning with STEAM, which has been widely implemented across various fields of study and has proven effective in enhancing 21st-century skills. This study aims to explore STEAM-integrated projects that can improve the creative thinking skills of students in Indonesia. The research method used is a bibliometric review. Data were obtained from the Scopus and Google Scholar databases. A total of 107 relevant articles were found using the selected keywords. The results showed that 6 articles discussed the research topic in Indonesia. It was proven that STEAM project-based learning can enhance creative thinking skills through themes related to environmental issues. However, further implementation is needed to make students more flexible in developing project ideas.
2025-05-03T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Lesson Study in Teacher Education
